Maxine Gong is an internationally acclaimed concert pianist, Steinway Artist, and top piano educator recognized by Steinway & Sons. A graduate of the Eastman School of Music, New England Conservatory, and University of Southern California, she earned her Bachelor’s, Master’s, and Doctorate degrees in Piano Performance under the guidance of internationally renowned pianists and educators. She also pursued additional academic studies at Harvard University and expanded her interdisciplinary background through management studies at the USC Marshall School of Business.

Recognized for combining artistic excellence with educational leadership, Maxine has built an international career as both a performer, educator, and artistic director. She previously served within the piano department at the New England Conservatory as a piano instructor and teaching assistant for piano lessons and classes. She is the founder and artistic director of MG Global Music Foundation and ArtistaCloud, as well as the co-founder of the Irvine Community Engagement Program and the Irvine Chamber Music Program. In addition, she is an affiliated member of SYMF and the Music Teachers’ Association of California (MTAC).

Throughout her musical journey, Maxine has had the privilege of studying under many distinguished pianists and pedagogues, including Daoyun Li, Sheng Jin, Zhaoyi Dan, Eleanor Wong, Steinway Artist Dr. Enrico Elisi, NEC piano department chair Bruce Brubaker, internationally acclaimed pianist Shai Wosner, John Perry, and Antoinette Perry. Born in Shanghai, China, she began studying piano at the age of two and was later accepted as a special piano student by both the Shanghai Conservatory of Music and Shenzhen Arts School at the age of ten. She later continued her studies at Idyllwild Arts Academy, one of the leading performing arts boarding schools in the United States.

As a performer, Maxine has appeared in internationally renowned venues including Carnegie Hall, Teatro Massimo Bellini in Italy, Kodak Hall, Jordan Hall, Hatch Hall, and Brown Hall. She made her Carnegie Hall debut in New York City in 2016 and later gave her European debut with the Bellini Symphony Orchestra at Teatro Massimo Bellini, performing Mendelssohn’s Piano Concerto No. 1 in G minor, Op. 25. She has also appeared as a concerto soloist performing Liszt’s Piano Concerto No. 1 in E-flat Major with orchestra.

Maxine has been a top prizewinner in numerous international competitions, including the Steinway & Sons International Youth Piano Competition, the Los Angeles Music Center Spotlight Awards Competition, the American Protégé International Piano and Strings Competition, and the AmicaFest International Concerto Competition.

Beyond her performing career, Maxine is deeply committed to cultivating the next generation of young artists through performance opportunities, artistic mentorship, and educational innovation. Through MG Global Music Foundation and ArtistaCloud, she provides international stages and artistic development platforms for young musicians worldwide. Her students have received top prizes in prestigious competitions including the Grand Prize Virtuoso International Music Competition, James Ramos International Competition, Southwest Bach Festival, and MTAC Theme Festival. Many of her students have also gained admission to leading universities such as Stanford University, Princeton University, University of Pennsylvania, Cornell University, Yale University, Northwestern University, and University of Southern California, as well as top conservatories and music schools including Eastman School of Music, New England Conservatory, Manhattan School of Music, San Francisco Conservatory of Music, and New York University.
